FREIGHT DELIVERY NOTES

Some freight is large and can become costly when trying to ship. Many products must ship by freight truck.  Pricing is a complex formula including factors such as: weight, dimensions, or your specific address.  Some products must be placed on a skid or in a crate for shipment. This may require a freight dock or fork to unload your shipment.  Freight to a commercial location is usually less expensive than a residence.  A location usually qualifies for commercial pricing if the address of delivery has a freight dock. Most other locations are classified as residential. While a church, school or retail shop isn’t a residential venue, it is almost always classified as such by the freight company. The delivery address for a shipment must be attended. Freight carriers add surcharges or fees for delivery notification, appointment or scheduled delivery. Your item may be too large to fit on a Liftgate.

If your delivery may be made by an 18 wheel "tractor-trailer" rig. These are the "big-rig" trucks you see on the highway. Your delivery address must be accessible to the delivery vehicle. These vehicles will not back down a road, can not turn around in your drive-way, and usually will not enter gated communities. A Cul-de-sac, circle drive or one lane service drive may not be allowed. Once arrived, the unloading of your freight is your responsibility and may take one or more persons to do the job. Please consider available persons at your delivery address. A truck in the middle of the street, in a residential neighborhood is usually not a welcome sight to traffic and neighbors, and unloading may be unsafe or impossible without help or professional equipment.  The driver's responsibility is to bring your shipment to the back of the truck, usually 4 feet off of the ground. They will not assist in unloading the shipment. If you need delivery assistance to unload that will require you to arrange with friends, neighbors or a local contractor to supply additional labor.  If your delivery address is a location such as a home, be sure that this address is attended 8-5, during normal delivery hours for a freight company. Most times this means a residence is NOT a good idea for a delivery address. Call ahead and delivery appointments are an added service and must be added at the time of order.

Damage/ Missing Items: The customer (YOU)  must notate any damage or loss at the time of delivery. All notations must be written on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery. If it is not notated and the damage is concealed or the shipment was dropped without signature, we must be notified within 48 hours of delivery. We understand that you may be ordering an item with the intention of installing it at a later date. We ask that you inspect the items you receive to make sure there is no damage and/or missing packages. If you wait beyond 48 hours to report, we will not be able to file a claim against the freight carrier and the replacement for missing/damaged item will need to be purchased at your expense.

Inside Delivery: We do not authorize any inside delivery charge. Should you ask the driver to take the product into a garage, backyard, side yard or anything other than up to the driveway, it is considered an Inside Delivery and that fee will be passed on to you. The freight carrier is only responsible to deliver your shipment to the end of the driveway.

Storage Fees/ Re-delivery: Please make sure we have your direct contact number. This needs to be a phone that you answer, or check voice mail.  The freight company will call you to schedule the delivery.
Many people do not answer "unknown" calls on their mobile devices.  An incorrect number, voice mail full, or unanswered calls can lead to storage fees due to not being available. Storage fees will also be applied if you are unable to receive the delivery within an allotted amount of time. This is usually within 48 hours of the destination terminal receiving the freight.  Re-delivery fees will occur when you schedule the delivery and then are not present when the freight company arrives to deliver. In that event, the freight will be taken back to the dock, this will cause a delay in delivery and re-delivery charges will apply.

Reconsignment: If the SHIP TO address changes for any reason after the shipment leaves our dock, the freight carriers charge a reconsignment fee. This reconsignment fee is charged regardless of whether the change is the result of an incorrect address on the original paperwork or if the change is requested by the you. Additionally, the freight company bills this charge whether the new address is 1 block away or a different town. Please verify you paperwork and confirm that the SHIP TO address you provided is the full
and correct address or additional charges will apply.

Detention Fee: If you are not able to unload the shipment within 30 minutes of the driver arriving, the freight company will charge a fee for the amount of time it takes to unload. It is up to YOU to have the correct equipment to unload your order. Many items can utilize a lift gate, but some larger shipments or
large quantities are not. If you have any questions, please ask your sales team.
